Israel: A Global Leader in AI-Driven Healthcare
Israel has firmly established itself as a global hub for artificial intelligence, with over 2,200 AI-focused companies—nearly triple the number a decade ago. Healthcare is among the most dynamic sectors, with 58% of HealthTech startups now integrating AI into their products and services.
Key areas of innovation include:
-
Medical imaging & diagnostic support – Algorithms that enable early disease detection.
-
Drug discovery & development – Predictive models that reduce the time and cost of creating new therapies.
-
Personalized medicine – Leveraging big data to tailor treatment plans to individual patients.
-
Preventive healthcare & telemedicine – AI tools that enhance care accessibility and risk prediction.
Israel’s unique advantage lies in its comprehensive digital health infrastructure, including more than three decades of electronic health records covering its population of 9 million. This rich data environment has made Israel a launchpad for AI-powered healthcare startups and a global leader in data-driven medical innovation.
In 2023 alone, Israeli AI startups attracted $3.9 billion in funding, representing 47% of all startup investments in the country—a clear indicator of the sector’s strategic importance.
Strengthening France–Israel Collaboration in AI & Health
This bilateral initiative seeks to:
-
Encourage partnerships between French and Israeli experts, institutions, and startups in AI for health.
-
Explore funding opportunities through programs like Horizon Europe and bilateral cooperation agreements.
-
Highlight cutting-edge innovations and their implications for the future of medicine.
By fostering new connections and showcasing concrete use cases, this event sets the stage for deeper scientific and technological collaboration between France and Israel. It reflects a shared commitment to harnessing AI not only as a tool for innovation but as a force for better, more personalized, and more accessible healthcare for all.
